This year we are bringing to you the�Chinese-European Partnership for Development (CEPD), a joint-university study trip co-organized with Warsaw School of Economics (Poland)!!
The objective of this trip is to increase understanding and awareness of the different countries through three aspects - politic, economic and culture. This will be achieved through visits to critical political and financial institutions, visits to global, reputable firms and also lectures from esteemed university professors.
You will also have the opportunity to plan the China part with us! Participants will be involved in the planning of the events and itineraries of the China phrase for students from Warsaw School of Economics!!
The highlights of last year's program are as follows:
Phase One 2012 (Organized by Warsaw School of Economics)
* Meetings with key political and business leaders (including Vice-Prime Minister of Poland, Chinese Ambassador of Poland)
* Lecture by former chairman of the National Bank of Poland and Economist Leszek Balcerowicz
* Guided tour through the European Central Bank with workshops
* Guided tour through the European Parliament, and a talk with the Polish representative Janusz Lewandowski
* Visit the Museum fur Moderne Kunst (MMK), the modern art museum
* Guided tour through a coal mine in Poland
Phase Two 2012 (Organized by us)
* Lecture by Dr. Eden Y Woon, HKUST Vice-President for Institutional Advancement
* Talk with the Chairman of Polish Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce
* Firm visit to Li & Fung Group
* Visit the Shanghai Future Exchange, and have a talk with the Associate Director of the Energy and Chemical Market
* Guided tour through the Hong Kong Monetary Authority
* Visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Yonghe Temple, Yu Garden, Tsinghua University
Dates: Both Europe part and China part will take place in July

Invitation to be a student representative for EUSC(Engineering Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs
Dear all,
The school is looking for a student representative for EUSC (Engineering Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs Committee) and Engineering School Board.
As a student representative for the EUSC, you will have the chance to get involved with engineering discipline studies matters, and be able to discuss with the other members about the curriculum of the engineering courses. In return, you will need to attend the meetings which are held around every two months, and be responsible for reading the materials distributed to you before each meeting. The period of being a student representative is one accademic year.�There will be two meetings in total, which are in February and April.
Please note that as a student representative of EUSC, you will also need to be a student representative (UG) for the Engineering School Board as well.�

2013年亞洲青年領袖遊學營將於2013年2月21日至25日在新加坡國立大學隆重舉行。屆時，來自亞洲各個國家的青年學生領袖又將齊聚獅城，通過有意義的旅遊環節和授課環節，來感受、探索和學習多元種族、多元語言以及多元文化的新加坡社會。
遊學營意在打破學習與旅遊“不可逾越”的界限，秉持“讀萬卷書，行萬里路”的理念，引導代表們將在新加坡的所見所聞與自己的國家情境相聯繫，並將通過主題旅遊探索、知識講座、學術問答、小組討論以及最終成果展示的形式，為代表們提供豐富精彩的遊學體驗平台。

You are invited to participate in the Asian Youth Leaders Travel and Learning Camp 2013 (AYLTLC2013), which will be held in Singapore from the 21st to the 25th of February 2013.
The camp aims at bringing student leaders from different Asian countries, through engaging activities, to enhance their abilities in cross-cultural interaction and cooperation, which will further equip them to be effective leaders. In addition, participants will be able to understand more about Singapore - a multiracial, multilingual and multicultural society - from various perspectives. Furthermore, they will be able to explore the wide array of cultural richness, technological advancement and educational rigour that have made Singapore one of Asia’s most progressive nations over the last 20 years.

Free tickets to the Hong Kong International Bakery Expo (香港國際烘焙展2012)

香港國際烘焙展 (Hong Kong International Bakery Expo)，將於2012年12月7日(星期五)，假香港灣仔會議展覽中心舉行。博覽內容包括烘培製品、原材料、設備、用具、包裝機器、甜點及糕點等。現場更設有多項活動如糖藝示範、咖啡品嚐會等，讓觀眾體驗及了解更多烘焙資訊。參觀者除了可以從各參展單位的專業烘培製品中汲取新概念及探究製作技巧外，還可以了解整個烘培業最新的科技和資訊，包括烘培餡料、包裝設備、咖啡烘焙產品，冷凍及儲藏設備等等，提升烘培製品的質素。
現有限量免費入場門券派發。從11月28日起，學生會會員可到學生會LG5辦公室出示會員證並索取門券。每人限取2張，先到先得，送完即止。

Dear members,
Staging at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the organizer will pull off the event namely The Hong Kong International Bakery Expo (IBE) on Dec 7 this year for public admission. The HKIBE primarily serves as a platform for trading partners to search for bakery needs and leads, but also for the public to learn more about bakery, including learning about how to try out coffee, bakery skills, chocolate truffle making workshop and recent development of the industry.
Free limited tickets are now available at the SU office. From Nov 28 onwards, members may get the free tickets at SU LG5 office upon presentation of a valid membership card. Each member may get 2 tickets at most, and is on first-come-first served basis.
Office Hours: Monday to Friday 1000-1300, 1400-1700
