On behalf of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Students' Union Council, The 20th Session, 2012-2013, I am writing to inform you the Official Result of Annual Election 2013.

The HKUST Students’ Union Annual Election 2013 was held during 27th February – 1^stMarch, 2013 and votes were counted within 24 hours after the close of the balloting.

Dear SU Member,

This notice serves as an announcement of the Annual Election 2013 of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Students' Union in accordance to the Article 8.3 of the Constitution. The Election Committee of the Council hereby announces that the Nomination Period of the Election will be started on 14^th January 2013 (Monday) and terminated at 4:30pm on 25^thJanuary 2013 (Friday). The following positions of the twenty-first Union Session (Session 2013 – 2014) will be opened for nomination:

1. ONE Cabinet of EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE which shall consist of the following positions:

(a)	President
(b)	Vice-President (Internal)
(c)	Vice-President (External)
(d)	Internal Secretary
(e)	Up to a maximum of two External Secretaries
(f)	Financial Secretary
(g)	General Secretary
(h)	Current Affairs Secretary
(i)	Information Technology Secretary
(j)	Administrative Secretary
(k)	Promotion Secretary
(l)	University Affairs Officer
(m)	Academic Affairs Officer
(n)	Public Relations Officer
(o)	Welfare Officer
(p)	Publication Officer

2. ONE Cabinet of EDITORIAL BOARD which shall consist of the following positions:

3. EIGHT vacancies of POPULARLY ELECTED COUNCILOR which shall be individually nominated.

The Election Date, Time, Eligibility for Nomination and Nomination Method are as follows –

(a)	Election Date: 27th February to 1st March, 2013 (Wednesday to Friday)
(b)	Election Time: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Daily
(c)	Eligibility for Nomination: Only Full Members of SU (except members of the Election Committee) shall be eligible for nomination.
(d)	Nomination method: Nomination forms may be obtained free of charge at the website of the Students’ Union Council (http://ihome.ust.hk/~su_ucoun/EC/AE13) or at Students’ Union Office, LG5313, LG5, Academic Building, HKUST starting from 14th January, 2013. The completed nomination form(s) shall return to the same address on or before 4:30 p.m. on 25th January, 2013.

1.          Further to the information session for the captioned application on 7^th December, 2012 by the Students' Union Executive Committee, this e-mail aims to provide information for members who are interested to apply for the Affiliation / Resumption of the Affiliation to HKUSTSU on behalf of their student groups in this Union Session.

2.      Any student groups (including but not limited to: Associations, clubs, societies) which fulfill the following requirements can apply for the affiliation to HKUSTSU:-

            i.                The student groups shall have their own Constitutions;

          ii.                The student groups shall have their objects which are consistent with the objects of the HKUSTSU;

        iii.                The objects shall not overlapped significantly with those of the existing affiliated organizations of the HKUSTSU; and

         iv.                The Constitution must meet the requirement imposed by the Council for ensuring proper administration and representation of their members by the office bearers of the association.

3.      The student groups need to submit an Application form, a copy of the Constitution and a detailed Proposal with Year Plan to the Students' Union Council. The details of the application shall be referred to the "Application for Affiliation to HKUSTSU - Procedures and Guidelines".

4.      The "Application for Affiliation to HKUSTSU - Procedures and Guidelines" and the related application form can be obtained by the Students' Union General Office (LG5313, LG5, Academic Building, HKUST) during office hours or downloaded by the following link:-

Application for the Resumption of the Affiliation to HKUSTSU

6.      Any affiliated society can apply for the Resumption of the Affiliation to HKUSTSU with the following requirements:-

            i.                Any affiliated society whose full affiliation status has been suspended due to the vacancy of the Executive Committee, or penalty imposed by Affiliated Societies Committee for less than 1 year; and

          ii.                Only Full Members of the Students’ Union shall be eligible for being Full Members or office bearers of affiliated societies.
